Belek and Antalya city are only about 40 km apart but offer completely different holidays. Here is how to choose.
Belek: the resort bubble
Belek is purpose-built luxury — championship golf, large all-inclusive five-star resorts, spa complexes and long Blue-Flag beaches. You arrive, check in, and rarely need to leave. Best for: golf trips, families wanting a self-contained all-inclusive, spa and wellness breaks, and couples who want to switch off. Trade-off: it’s a resort zone, not a town — limited local street life, and dining outside the hotels takes a short drive.
Antalya city: the real thing
Antalya is a city of over a million people, with the historic Kaleici old town, a marina, museums, shopping malls, restaurants and nightlife. You stay among locals, walk to dinner, and have the old town and waterfalls on your doorstep. Best for: culture, independent travellers, foodies, longer stays, and anyone who wants a city as well as a beach. Trade-off: city beaches (Lara, Konyaalti) are good but it’s a busier, less cocooned environment than a Belek resort.

- Dining out & nightlife: Antalya.
- Families wanting one resort: Belek.
- Independent explorers: Antalya.
- Value: Antalya generally stretches further; Belek is premium.
Can you do both?
Yes — many visitors split a stay, or base in one and day-trip to the other. Belek to Antalya city is a 40-minute drive, and the old town makes an easy half-day.
Airport distance
Both are close to Antalya Airport: Belek about 30 km (35 min), central Antalya about 13 km (20 min).
